To the youth we work with, we call them Stars.

Many teenagers are skeptical of Christianity. The teenagers we work with are mostly in the 15 to 17 year-old range.  Most have been told about it, but few have actually seen it in ways which are believable to them.  It takes the love of Christ being manifest in the Epiphany volunteers to make Christianity comprehensible to these young people.

Seeing is believing, and experiencing Christ's love face to face is an epiphany for many incarcerated juveniles.

You will find a wide range of juvenile offenses represented in our Stars. In Epiphany, we do not ask and we do not care. While they may tell us, it does not matter to Epiphany volunteers what the Star has done.

Many of our Stars have never had a chance. Many come from very unstable home situations—born into dysfunctional families that are almost unrecognizable as families.

We don’t get through to them all.

Often we only see change over time, and sometimes we don’t see  change at all. Due to the disappointments these young people have experienced with people they have grown up around, trust is hard to earn.

We will never tell you it is not tough to overcome some of the experiences and biases these young people have; but when Christ has your back, you will be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Want to get involved in an Epiphany event?

Each Epiphany weekend involves a team of adults and youth from the Christian community who work together to show the Love of God to those attending.
